CAF Confederation Cup campaigner, Rivers United have decided to adopt the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba as their home ground for their playoffs tie with Al Masry of Egypt billed for November 28th after the Confederation of African Football rejected the choice of Adokie Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.
Rivers United have used the Adokie Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt to prosecute their home matches in the first and second rounds of the CAF Champions League against Young Africans of Tanzania and Sudanese side, Al Hilal.
It was the Pride of Rivers home turf too last season when their main home ground, Yakubu Gowon Stadium was not fit to host league games and it is presently undergoing repairs.
The club in a short message states: “The Enyimba International Stadium Aba will act as our home ground for the CAF TotalEnergies Confederation Cup Additional Round Playoff tie against Al Masry of Egypt on 28th November 2021.”
The club further said that work is ongoing at the stadium to put all that the CAF inspection team observed were not in order, in the right perspective before long.
