The West Africa Academy of Science and the Department of Political Science, Lagos State University is to hold an international conference on the economics of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on March 25 & 26, 2026, at the Conference Hall of the Lagos State University(LASU), Ojo, Lagos.
In a press statement signed by Mr Michael Igaga, the Executive Secretary of the Academy of Science, the Chairman of the organising committee of the conference, Professor Odion Akhaine and the Head of the LASU Department of Political Science, Dr Abdul Wasi Tunde, said that the conference will celebrate the advancement of ideological thoughts drawn from authentic African resonance, charging that Africans must transcend borrowed ideas that are not intuited into the African cultural and metaphysical idioms.
The conference, the statement, went on, will deliver on the contributions of Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ideological thoughts drawn from his work, entitled, “Financialism: Water from an Empty Well,” a book he co-authored with Hon. Brian Browne, a former Consul General of the United States in Nigeria. First presented in 2013, in Chicago, United States of America and Nigeria, the international conference on Tinubunomics, will have the President, who has been invited as the Special Guest of Honour, physically present.
Also expected at the plenary of the session is Professor Julius Ihonvbere, who has been invited as Chairman of the session.
Also at the moment the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Professor Ihonvbere is an academic of international repute acknowledged for his contributions to ideological studies and political economy.
