The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command arrested Portable on Tuesday, May 14, for alleged failure to pay the balance of his G-Wagon vehicle.
The command’s spokesperson Benjamin Hudenyin, in an update on Wednesday, said the singer would remain in detention until he was able to produce a reliable surety for him to be granted bail.
“He has presented no reliable surety yet; so he (Portable) is still with us,” Hundeyin said.
The police spokesperson had disclosed that the command received a petition against the musician for failure to pay the monetary balance of the vehicle he purchased from a car dealer.
“He bought G-Wagon for N27 million, paid N13 million and refused to pay the rest, claiming the vehicle was bad. We arrested him today (Tuesday),” Hundeyin had said.
