In a statement released on Wednesday, the Public Relations Officer of the Command, Josephine Adeh, disclosed the arrest of several suspects in connection with a recent kidnapping incident.
Adeh identified the suspects as Umar Abdullahi, also known as Auta, Likita Abubakar, Salisu Sani, Sabiu Mohammed, and Aliyu Suleiman. They were apprehended for their involvement in the June 12, 2024, kidnapping in Gwagwa, during which a victim was abducted, and ₦12 million was collected as ransom from the victim’s family. The incident also resulted in the deaths of two individuals.
The spokesperson revealed that the suspects were linked to multiple kidnappings and other serious crimes within the Capital Territory. She emphasized that the investigation is ongoing, and the Commissioner of Police for the FCT, Benneth Igweh, reaffirmed the command’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the security and safety of residents.
