The Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) says its forthcoming Employers’ Excellence Awards will recognise and celebrate resilience, ruggedness and contributions of Nigerian businesses to the nation’s economy.
NECA’S Director-General, Mr Adewale-Smatt Oyerinde, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Lagos.
“Quite a lot is being done by organised businesses, and we realise nobody is celebrating us.
He noted that the awards would be the fourth.
“We came up with the concept of the excellence awards to recognise businesses that are doing exceptionally well in human resources, on sustainability, on corporate social responsibility,” he said.
“Oyerinde added that NECA would recognise businesses doing exceptionally in corporate governance and responsible business conduct.
Oyerinde said that the process of selecting the winners was rigorous.
According to him, the credibility of the judges and the jury is untainted.
Earlier in a statement, Oyerinde said that the awards to hold in November would have the theme, “Defying the Odds”.
According to him, the 2024 edition of the awards will feature additional categories in a bid to further recognise and reward excellence.
He listed the awards category to include Employer of the Year, Innovation in Employee Development, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Diversity and Inclusion.
