MTN Nigeria Reports ₦549.3 Billion Tax Contribution for 2023

MTN Nigeria Communications Plc has reported a significant contribution of ₦549.3 billion in taxes and levies to the Nigerian government for the year 2023. This information was disclosed in the company’s 2023 Sustainability Report, filed with the Nigeria Exchange Limited.

The report highlights MTN Nigeria’s achievements in expanding connectivity and enhancing its nationwide coverage. The company now reaches 79.7 million people, covering 92.9% of the country. Additionally, MTN Nigeria invested ₦2.6 billion in corporate social investment programs through the MTN Foundation, impacting over 58,000 lives.

The telecom giant also noted a capital expenditure of ₦571.0 billion in 2023, marking a 13.2% increase from the previous year. This investment was primarily focused on improving infrastructure and service delivery, which aligns with MTN Nigeria’s commitment to enhancing customer experience and expanding digital solutions across the nation.

Karl Toriola, the Chief Executive Officer of MTN Nigeria, expressed pride in the company’s progress and reaffirmed its dedication to sustainability. He stated, “We remain steadfast in our pursuit of excellence and committed to continuously improving our sustainability practices while striving for an even greater impact in the communities we serve.”
