The APC said 28 contenders bought the presidential nomination forms, but following the screening exercise, the list was pruned. We then had a shortlist of 13. But as of this morning, the APC governors and NWC have recommended five hopefuls.
At last count, 2,322 delegates from 36 states and the FCT are expected to elect the flagbearer of the ruling party for the 2023 presidential election.
Delegates are in high spirits as they wait to get accredited. Today is their day. They are the stars of the show.The weeks leading to this moment have been packed with wheeling and dealing, a series of horse-trading, scheming, strategising and restrategising by the camps and foot soldiers of the contenders.
Momentarily, delegates are getting accreditated at the International Conference Centre while journalists are waiting to receive press tags at Rayfield Hotel.
