The presiding Pastor of GRCC, Pastor Paul Lawal, while dedicating the worship center said ‘It is to the grace of God Almighty that we gather here today to dedicate the auditorium to his glory. This may be a milestone in the journey of GRCC and the provision of God towards us. As we stand, I would like us to take a moment to reflect on the journey so far. We are filled with gratitude for God’s magnanimity helping us to do His will and the unwavering support. This new auditorium is not merely a building but a sacred house where we will gather to worship, pray and seek Spiritual nourishment in-season and out-of-season. He explains further that, it will be a place where the word of God will be proclaimed, lives will be transformed and where the love of Christ will be shared.
‘’This auditorium shall be a beacon of hope and love in this community and beyond. A place where the weary shall find rest, the sick find healing and the lost shall find refuge. May it be a place where all are welcome and where God’s love knows no bounds’’
As we dedicate this new church auditorium. Let us also recommit ourselves to the service of God and our fellow men. Let us remember that the true beauty of this building lies not in its architecture, but in the lives that will be touched and transformed within and beyond its walls.
Conclusively, we give thanks for the blessings of this day and pray for God’s continual guidance and presence in this new chapter of GRCC journey. May this auditorium be a living testimony to the faithfulness of our God and a place where His name will be exalted for generations to come.
Paul Lawal who until call to ministry was the Managing Director /Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement Systems Plc.
According to him, the name was divinely given sometime in 2002 whilst on the Ibadan-Ife expressway on a trip to lloko- ljesha. The Lord revealed the name of the church as GLORIOUS RESTORATION CHURCH OF CHRIST (GRCC) and about two kilometers further on the road he saw a big stone tablet on the mid-section of the express road with the acronym RCC which means Reynolds Construction Company. Later in 2010, he traveled to Richmond Virginia USA for a conference and had a dream in which God told him the Church would be GLORIOUS hence: he named it GLORIOUS RESTORATION CHURCH OF CHRIST (GRCC).
He was airworthy and ready to Start a new ministry. He also believes all Christ the world should belong to ONE UNIVERSAL CHURCH.
The turning point was meeting with The General Overseer of Mountain Of Fire And Miracles Ministries Pastor (Dr.) D. K. Olukoya; who told him that he had a distinct ministry which was 17 Years belated and that he should start now if he did not want “God to strike him with the Rod Of Jona” It was this further confirmation by the respected man of God that jolted him to start the Ministry. Pastor Paul Lawal and his wife Minister Mojibola Paul-Lawal worshiped for about 25 Years with The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) The ministry started meeting once a week and also observed vigils on the third Friday of every month. On December 28, 2014 GRCC began as a Church with a Sunday Service at 56B Itafaji Street. Dolphin Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos.
