Celestial Church Oshodi 3 Parish Celebrates Juvenile Harvest

Trust Africa News, By Ruth Adeniyi

The Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) Oshodi 3 Parish, has joined other Celestians globally to celebrate youths and children at the 2022 juvenile harvest held over the weekend.

The celebration was done, according to Abayomi Emmanuel, one of the parish teachers to inculcate into the children the philosophy and culture of Celestial globally so they can continue the tradition.

He said the Juvenile Harvest is all about children as the name implies, just as the children’s’ day and it is a way the children in Celestial church are celebrated worldwide. ‘’That’s why we celebrate the children to they can feel among and can be joyous about this moment’’, he asserted.

On the importance of the harvest, Emmanuel said it is in fulfilment of a Yoruba adage that says the deity that’s not shown to children, it will end all of a sudden. ‘’In order words, children are channeled into the doctrine of Celestial through this act (Juvenile Harvest). We’ve had series of rehearsals, and trainings, so that they can learn and they can understand the significance of the day.

‘’And through that, this will inversely result to the performance of the children in the church because before now, the adults in the church will vacate the seats and the younger ones will fill those seats. Train up a child in the way that’s good and when he grows, he’ll not depart from it. This is an act of Celestial training up a child so that when they go up to the stage to minister, it will not be strange for them to fill those gaps of their leaders, dads and mums’’, he affirmed.

On the activities lined up for the children, he said So many activities have been done before the main day. ‘’We have started the activities since Thursday, a film show, a little bit of event, on Saturday, the sports event, an event that tasks the brain on cognitive aspects. The children are the ones participating in all of these activities taking place.

‘’So, all of these activities sum up to their moments. When I was young, I was always looking forward to celebrating it each year because it’s always a special day for children which makes them happy’’, he added.
