A group of Nigerians deported from Turkey arrived at the pilgrims’ wing of the airport on Southwind Airlines flight TC-GRB at approximately 6:45 pm. They were greeted by multiple government agencies including NEMA, NSCDC, DSS, and military personnel. The deportees expressed anger over their treatment in Turkey, where they alleged unfair detention for over 11 months before deportation. They appealed to the Nigerian government to advocate for them and recover their belongings.
It is unclear whether they committed any offence in Turkey to warrant their deportation.
The angry deportees narrated their treatment, alleging that they were unfairly treated in the European country.
According to them, they were detained by the Turkish authorities for over 11 months before being deported.
They, therefore, called on the Nigeria government to fight for them and reclaim all their valuables.
