A House of Representatives aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abiodun Owokoya aka CheChe has donated 500 food items to widows and youth in Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos State.
Owokoya presented the palliative through his foundation, CheChe Foundation as part of his commitment to serve the nation.
Speaking at the event, Owokoya who is awaiting to run for a seat in the Kosofe Federal Constituency in 2023 said the gesture was to celebrate the festive season with the people in the community.
“We are feeding about 500 people in Kosofe LGA, both the widows, widowers and youth. This gesture is coming as a philanthropist, not as a politician.
“Since the launch of Cheche Foundation a decade ago, we have continued to empower the youth and less privileged in Kosofe.
“As a trained Cloud/Software Engineer working in the United State of America and I see how the system works. I’m one of the engineers that set up all the serves they use in the United States for Unemployment Insurance.
“So, I’m here in Nigeria to impact society, especially the youth. While in the USA, I have trained Nigerians in the diaspora so if I can succeed over there then I can replicate the same at home.
“Currently, we are training the youth in on Cloud Computing. After this training, the minimum amount they can make in a year is $150,000 so if I could do this to other Nigerians in diaspora and other countries I see it as an opportunity to come back home to empower the youth within my constituency.”
He urged the people of Kosofe to get their Permanent Voter Card, PVC, adding that the PVC is their symbol of hope.
