??????

Lagos, Nigeria – At the ‘Blackbelt Graduation Ceremony’ organized by 1 Million Teachers, an international teacher training organization, on Saturday, July 6, 2024, Adeniran emphasized the importance of quality delivery in education. The event, co-sponsored by Airtel Nigeria, took place at the Lagos Country Club, Ikeja.

The panel, titled “Leveraging Expertise and Innovations for Advancing Educational Reforms in Africa,” featured distinguished speakers, including Patrick Egbunonu from St. Lawrence College, Canada; Emmanuel Asika, Country Head of HP Nigeria; and Olanrewaju Oniyitan, Project Director at Seed Care and Support Foundation.

Addressing a question on school reputation management in today’s digital media environment, Adeniran highlighted that quality delivery is the key to successful school marketing. He noted that schools often face restrictions on using children for advertising, making word-of-mouth a critical tool for communicating achievements.

“Schools must implement impactful programs that resonate with their community,” Adeniran said. “Direct and open communication platforms, such as Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meetings, keep parents informed and help spread positive messages within the community.”

He also stressed the importance of continuous engagement with stakeholders on social media platforms like Instagram and LinkedIn to enhance the image of educational institutions.

On the topic of partnerships to drive educational advancement, Adeniran reiterated Airtel’s commitment to education, highlighting the ongoing $57 million partnership with UNICEF under the ‘Airtel/UNICEF Re-imagine Education’ program.

“In the first year, we connected 600 students. Now, we are providing data to 960 public schools every month, enabling them to access the learning platform developed by the Ministry of Education, The Learning Passport,” Adeniran noted.

The event concluded with remarks from the Lagos State Commissioner of Basic Education, Mr. Jamiu Alli-Balogun, who commended organizations partnering with the government to support education. He urged teachers to embrace technological advancements to stay ahead of their students, who are increasingly tech-savvy.
